Billy Norris
Senior Pastor
Billy Norris grew up in Texas. The summer of 1986 he sensed God calling him to full time ministry. In 1987 he graduated from Malakoff High School. After that he attended college at East Texas State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in counseling and Guidance. From there he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Masters of Divinity degree.
Billy pastored two other churches before coming to Southside Baptist Church. He served for five years at Paradise Baptist Church in Caddo Mills, Texas. Then he pastored at First Baptist Church, Fate, Texas for six years. Billy was called to Southside in February of 2007.
Bro. Billy loves to preach and teach God's Word to God's people. He has a heart for missions and reaching the world for Christ. He loves to minister to God's people and share the gospel with the lost. He has served as the Vice-President for the Pastor's Conference of the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention.
Bro. Billy and his wife Melisa have four boys Kemp, William, Adrian, and Landry.

PHil Spann
Student Minister
Phil Spann has served as our Youth Minister since 2008. He is a lifelong resident of Paris, having graduated from Paris High School in 1983. He began his 25 plus years of youth work while at Immanuel Baptist, first serving as a youth Sunday school teacher in 1986.
In 1988, God moved his family to East Paris Baptist where he taught several different youth Sunday school classes, Discipleship Training classes,and various other Bible studies.
In 2004, Phil and His family moved to Southside Baptist. He served as our Interim Youth Minister in late 2006 into 2007. As a layman, he served in several areas of our church and was ordained as a Deacon in 2008. Later in 2008, Phil surrendered to the call of youth minister and joined our church staff.
Phil married his high school sweetheart, Carla Sheridan in 1985. Carla is a tremendous support in Phil's ministry to our students. They have 3 children, Brooke, Leslie, and Jansen.

Zack Barton
Music Minister
Zack Barton came to Southside in August 2017. Zack grew up in Bonham, TX and graduated from Bonham High school in 2007. Zack felt his call to ministry during his Senior year of high school. He attended Texas A&M-Commerce university where he graduated in 2012.
Before coming to Southside Baptist church Zack served as a worship leader at First Baptist Bonham, and youth/music minister as First Baptist Alba.
Zack loves leading people in the music aspect of worship and desires to connect people to God and his word through music.
Zack met the love of his life, Emily at the Baptist Student Ministry of Texas A&M-Commerce. They were married in 2012. Their first child, Bentli was born in Dec. of 2016, and their second child, River was born in August of 2019.

Angie & Terry Sulsar
Administrative Assistant/Custodian
Angie Sulsar joined the staff of Southside Baptist after retiring from a 26 year career at North Lamar Schools. She was blessed to be able to use the skills she obtained at the school district to fill the need the church had for a secretary.
Her husband, Terry Sulsar, and Angie brought their young family to Southside in 1991 and immediately became a part of the wonderful church family. Terry serves our congregation as a deacon, and custodian and Angie has been the church clerk since 1997. God has blessed them with four beautiful daughters, sons in law that they love as their own, and best of all.... THIRTEEN gorgeous grandchildren, and one precious great granddaughter, who they get to spend time with most of them on a daily basis. They feel they have been blessed beyond measure.
We are so glad to have Angie serving this church as our Administrative Assistant and she knows that this is the current ministry God has for Her. She praises Him for this blessing and looks forward to what He has in store for them at Southside. We also are thankful for Terry . We appreciate them both as they serve the Lord.
